As a business owner it is easy to get caught up in the business. Customers are calling, emails seem to be endless, you are looking for the next sale, trying to get the last sale out the door, etc.

On New Year’s Eve my son, John, got married to Alicia. It was a beautiful evening for a magical wedding. It was held in Peoria, Arizona at the bride’s brother’s house.

Twas the night before Christmas and Santa’s a wreck… How to live in a world that’s politically correct? His workers no longer would answer to “Elves”, “Vertically Challenged” they were calling themselves. And labor conditions at the North Pole, were alleged by the union, to stifle the soul.

A very common sentiment at Christmas is peace on earth. It sounds so very idealistic to me. But what does this really mean? I found one definition – striving for a world without war, a society where we respect and help our neighbors, a place where we protect and uplift our most in need.

December 31 is right around the corner.  With holidays coming up, here’s a list of what you can do now, to get your books in order and reduce the rush.

There is plenty of fear, anger and pain in this world. The news is full it. It is not uncommon to see a variety of rants on social media. They love to inspire the negative emotions.

“Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.” For small business owners, this expression holds true.  As the year is coming to a close, it is time to think about taxes.   

During my recent vacation I had a deep heartwarming focus on family. Lots of family. It all started with a family reunion that was initiated by my Aunt Sue, last year.

As I ventured into the work world my primary focus was to earn an income. I wanted to go to college and needed to find a way to pay for it. I looked for something that I could do, hopefully enjoy doing it.

I think I lost my sense of adventure. On Labor Day I was whining to myself that I never go anywhere. I admit that I am a homebody. I love to stay home.
